Awards and Recognition
For 12 consecutive years, New Lenox School District 122 has received the Bright Star Award from SchoolSearch, a Kansas City-based firm that works with major companies to provide relocating families with school information.
The Bright Star Award is given to school districts with the highest student performance at the lowest cost. Only 80 of the state’s 872 school districts received the award this past year.
In November, 2007, the Illinois State Board of Education presented Tyler School with the Academic Excellence Award, which is presented to schools that sustain high performance levels on the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT).
In November, 2007, the Illinois State Board of Education presented Martino and Liberty junior high schools with the Academic Improvement Award, which is presented to schools that show substantial gains in performance on the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT).
