Seminar - Liberty and Martino Jr. Highs
Scholastic Bowl is an academic team that competes under the umbrella of the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA). Our season runs from January to the first week of May. Scholastic Bowl is more than just trivia. We compete in social studies, science, math, language arts, and miscellaneous topics.
Announcements about try-outs will appear in November. Try-outs will be held in December with the announcement of the 2019 team made before Winter Break. 15 - 18 students will be selected for the Scholastic Bowl team. Team is made up of a mix of 7th and 8th graders. The team meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 19th from 3:00 -3:20 in Room 26. Students will be given a tentative practices and matches calendar and the uniform order form. IESA rules require a team uniform which usually consists of a t-shirt. Uniforms are ordered online. The first practice will be January 8, 2019. Practices are usually on Gold days after school from 3:00 to 4:15.
Remind is a way of communicating with the parents and team members. When there are special announcements or a change in schedule, I can message you through Remind. The texts are blind and no numbers are shared between anyone.

Order information will be sent home with the students on Friday, December 14th and again on December 19th.. Please make sure you order quickly. Orders must be in by January 5th, 2019. Without the uniform, students are not allowed to play. This is an IESA rule. The link is below as well.
