Hello! My name is Elizabeth Rumbaugh, and I am happy to be working as the Communication Development speech therapist this year. I am very excited to be a part of the New Lenox School District community!
This is my first full school year working as a speech therapist! I recently graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences. I also worked this past summer at an extended school year program in Tinley Park, IL. Communication is a huge passion of mine! I love to enrich the minds of all students and help them exceed their speech and language goals!
I will be seeing the students in the Communication Development classroom 2-3 times a week. My role in the CD classroom is to co-plan and teach with the student's classroom and special education teacher. I will put an emphasis on the language portion (e.g., vocabulary, sentence structure, literal/figurative language, etc.) of the student's curriculum.
I am happy to answer any questions you might have – feel free to email at any time! Email is most definitely the best way to reach me as I split my time between Tyler Elementary School and Bentley Intermediate School.
Again, I am so excited to work with the amazing students in the New Lenox School District!
