Welcome to Mrs. Mistro's Class News and Notes!
Second grade will be filled with many new experiences for your child. I use this page to post current class news, important notes, and other information related to our classroom. Check here frequently during the school year to keep posted on the exciting things we will be doing!

Student journals come home on Fridays. I'm asking that students write a note to parents each Friday about their week. Parents, please write a note back to your child. Journals should be returned the following Monday. Thank you for your support!
NEW SCHOLASTIC DATE: December orders are due online by January 19. I will send home paper flyers, but I do ask that all ordering be done online under our class account. I will receive the books here at school and distribute them to your child. Our class code is MZNYB. It is certainly never required to order books, but many parents find this to be a good option to obtain resources for their children. I then use the bonus points that I receive to add to our classroom supplies. Thank you in advance for your support!
Wednesdays - Wear GREEN for responsibility!
December 18 - 21 will be a holiday-themed week. There will be no StoryTown or spelling tests. A letter with more information will be coming home on December 14.
Monday, December 18 - Polar Express
Tuesday, December 19 - Frosty, Gingerbread Houses (Don't forget to turn in permission forms and bring in a bag of candy to share and a container of white frosting.)
Wednesday, December 20 - Grinch
Thursday, December 21 - Rudolph
We will celebrate our upcoming winter break with a chance to play some games on December 21st. Bring your favorite board games to school so you can play with a partner. No electronics allowed (DS, iPod/iPad, etc.). Please be sure to label your game and place it in a bag for safe keeping! We will have games here if you are unable to bring one from home. We will also be watching a short video, Toy Story That Time Forgot, Rated G, prior to our holiday parties.
Christmas Break - No School - December 22 - January 5
Keep reading every day to add to our school's total of books read!
