WE ARE IN NEED OF SOME PARENT HELPERS FOR OUR HALLOWEEN PARTY! If you are available, please let me know and I will give your contact information to our head room mom, Mrs. Murray. Most of the party is planned out already, but we can use some extra helpers for the stations. Thank you!

Halloween is just around the corner and we know all of the students are getting excited about their costumes and Trick or Treating! The students at Nelson Prairie WILL be allowed to wear their costumes to school. We ask that you consider whether or not your child can go to the bathroom independently while wearing their costume and if they can sit comfortably while wearing the costume on the floor and in their chair. Accessories should be left in a bag until the party please. Remember that no look alike weapons are allowed as part of a costume. Please leave these items at home. Students will wear their costumes home on the bus and we will once again ask that they store the accessories in a bag so no part of their costume is lost. Please let us know if you have any questions. If you choose to send a treat bag for your child to hand out (this is not required) we ask that you remember that no food items will be allowed. If your treat bag contains any food items we will not be able to have your child hand it out. Do not forget that October 31st is an early dismissal. School will be released at 12:15.

Student journals come home on Fridays. I'm asking that students write a note to parents each Friday about their week. Parents, please write a note back to your child. Journals should be returned the following Monday. Thank you for your support!

NEW SCHOLASTIC DATE: October orders due online by October 20. I will send home paper flyers, but I do ask that all ordering be done online under our class account. I will receive the books here at school and distribute them to your child. Our class code is MZNYB. It is certainly never required to order books, but many parents find this to be a good option to obtain resources for their children. I then use the bonus points that I receive to add to our classroom supplies. Thank you in advance for your support!

Password letters have been sent home, but please be patient as we work to enter students into our class accounts and get everything running smoothly for the year!

Upcoming Events:

Book Reports are due on Thursday, October 26. Presentations will be Thursday, Friday, and the following Monday.

Pie Fundraiser Forms went home Friday, October 6. Orders are due by Friday, October 20.

Principal for the Day Ticket Sheets went home Friday, October 6 and are due back by Friday, October 20.

Keep reading every day to add to our school's total of books read! Nelson Prairie students and staff read over 1,000 books during the month of September!
