Reading - Nelson Ridge
Teaching children was an aspiration I had at a young age. My philosophy toward teaching has always been to do what is best for the child. Some days that reflects solely on their academics and other days their social and emotional needs take precedence. I make every effort to know my students as learners and as people so I can best meet their needs. In our class we begin everyday with "Good News." I find that beginning our days with something positive as well as letting them share about themselves allows us to build an effective classroom community.
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in elementary education. I also received a masters degree in School Counseling from Governors State University.
Favorite thing about Teaching:
My favorite part of teaching is providing students opportunities to do their best.
I enjoy taking pictures to capture family memories, as well as completing creative projects. I also play and watch sports with family and friends.
