Language Arts Notes:

Students will be diving into a new story this week!  Three Native Nations will be our final text in this module.   At the conclusion of this module, students will write their performance-based assessment during class.  The PBA asks students to write an opinion piece on which Native American tribe they would like to be a part of, using reasons to support their opinion.

Students will be preparing for Terra Nova testing, which will take place next week.  Our DLR morning work focuses on these skills.  There will be NO DLR quiz this week as these skills will be incorporated into the Terra Nova assessment.

Remember to have your child read 20 minutes per night as well as go on IXL to practice language arts skills at home!

Upcoming Tests:

Due to Terra Nova and AIMS, we will be slowing down the pace of ReadyGEN lessons; quizzes and tests will resume the first week of February.

Thursday, February 7: Spelling assessment on possessives.  Students should be able to use each word correctly in the context of a sentence.  Spelling City link is under the "student links" tab on the right side of my website.  Study guide is also posted under the "Language Arts" tab.
