1.) Reading Logs - Your child should read nightly. Reading can consist of picture walks, memorization books, reading to a younger child, or being read to by an adult. Research shows students should a minimum of 100 minutes a week. Students will have a reading log to complete each month. Please have your child color in a symbol for each night they read for at least 15 minutes. Students who return the reading log after the month will receive an incentive. Again, this homework is optional, but has great benefits and will help create life long readers! Fluency practice is another way to help build fluent readers. This is an optional homework option as well.
2.) Math HomeLinks – To reinforce the skills we are learning in our math program. HomeLinks will come home after a lesson is completed. We will go over these homelinks in class the following school day and we will go over them together in class the following school day!
